Summertime Sadness '16

Summer 2016 was LIT (translation so much fun).

This summer felt really magical to me, not only do I feel like I slayed but I did everything and anything that simply added to my happiness and this is something I usually don't ever prioritise. I went on holiday, I got in formation with Queen Bey, had some amazing nights out with friends, started focusing on myself, ended it with NHC16 and truly just spent time in my world enjoying me (or as Dior would say; 'do [ing] you {me}' . Do you ever get so caught up in the world or with life and forget about yourself ? I honestly thought that it would be hard getting into the focus on myself but the transition was beautiful.
(TIP: plan, pray and practise! )
Top, Skirt and Shoes : ZARA (Sale)

I am so grateful to walk in September, I enter with pure excitement and expectation! I have been saying to a few people that something about this month feels very magical; to me - like the new snapchat filter (minus the crown thing). I don't know if it is, because September has a great association with new beginnings or it could be that I am getting ready for fashion week, the fact that as I look back to the beginning of the year, I would have never imagined to be stepping into September 2016 with all of the blessings I have received thus far ! Then again my favourite number is also 9 too.

May September be a magical and beautiful month for you ^_^

Denim Delicacy

Hi guys ! And a happy August to you all (even though we are on day 11 lol.

For the loyal readers who understand why I lack regular blogging in the month of August, I thank you for your and patience, I'm trying to keep on updating ! For all of my newbies, let me explain *Caribbean accent*. The 3-8 August consists of my mother, 4 close cousins, have birthdays and other traditional family  celebrations take place, and THIS year; I have a lot of family coming over from the states, as well as my godson who is soon about to turn 10 ! Plus overtime at work - as you can see, I'm hell'a BUSY ! Meaning, I'm always tired, and I admit that I haven't taken much rest since hectic July. But I'm trying to keep you updated with my life and new things as much as possible.

Denim dress with cut out at the back- H&M
Sandals : Primark
Necklaces : Tiffany&Co

Tip: For the days when you feel so like not making an 'effort' to seize your day, fling on a loose fitted summer dress! Whether that be a maxi from H&M, sundress from New Look, and a simple yet fun skater dress from River Island! A make-up tip I've learned recently is if you are not bothered for the attempting the 'coverage', apply a BB cream (best from Bobbi Brown if I say so myself) and finish with either a little bronzer (I buy mine from The body shop) , mascara and/or eyeliner then finish with a red lip ! This year, I've been really smart with my bank and really got into renewing last years stuff for this year, but I had to embark on purchasing this H&M dress, despite the weird shape, I'm in love ! The dress is light and looks good whether dressed up or down ! I even wore this to work today THEN went to my Church youth barbecue ^_^

Memory Lane - Words & Pictures || OOTD

This month is due to hold a load of exciting tasks and memories to last a while ! Starting already from Monday, I was at uni for the past 5 days being a student ambassador, assisting the lecturers at the LCF Words & Pictures summer school.

It was such an exciting opportunity, I had previously gone to the same summer school programme back when I was 17 years old, and it was so great to be on the other side watching these students striving to learn about their potential future careers. I had also worked with a cool guy called Josh, who was a recent graduate from LCF studying Journalism (be on the watch out for him, he'll be launching his magazine real soon). It was amazing for myself to learn more stuff from his complete journey at LCF, as I've just moved onto my second year (did I mention I passed 1st with a reallllly good grade ^_^ )

Monday's OOTD
Blouse- Zara
Jeggings- Topshop
Sandals- Primark
It was such a lovely experience ! I tried my hardest to be so proactive in all tasks and give sufficient answers to their questions about the uni, my degree, the expectations etc ... and now I whilst I write this post, I am able to realise how much I have achieved within these two years alone !

As happy as I am to have experienced this, I am too - tired . I think I've had about 12 hours sleep collectively this week alone, I have so much work to do (But I still love it lol) ! And I haven't been too well, hopefully I will upload the rest of the weeks OOTD's

Wild Soul Sunglasses

Black Owls

Wild Soul Sunglasses is not just your normal brand with a range of sunglasses for protecting your precious eyes. Each pair of sunglasses are crafted after intricate feature of an animal whose name they carry and are available in several rich and earthy colours using quality material.

"Wild Soul was created on the premise that there are causes greater than our own that can and must be supported. We are dedicated to giving supporters of Wild Soul a platform to help the causes that are close to their heart" -Wild Soul Sunglasses, which launch in late 2012.

I love the idea of incorporating charity with design, the sunglasses range included frames named 'the Lion, the Elephant, the Owl etc' so as customers, we are able to unleash our wild side whilst being charitable. Whichever pair of shades you decide to buy , you'll also be able to decide what charity your donations will go to at the checkout .

Whether you guys like to admit it or not, we all have a wild side; and I know when the sun is shining in UK, london-ers do get excited and wear their summer attire, but why not add a pair of Wild Soul shades to your ensemble?

OOTD || Easter Monday

Heyy everyone ! Happy April (can't believe how quick time is flying) and happy Easter Tuesday (yurp, I said it.... Easter Tuesday ^_^ lol). I hope you all had (are still having) a lovely time with loved ones, and taking a rest before we get back to world of reality in a week or so's time.

Yesterday, my whole family spent the day  (and night) together chilling and carried on celebrating, we have a lot of things to be grateful and the bank holiday was an excuse to meet up with those who we hadn't seen since around Christmas.
Tried something which I'm not use to - mixing textures and print. Liked the end result if I say so myself

New Purchase: Zara

Jacquard Blazer and Leopard Heels : Zara

Something about these two individual items struck me during a stroll in the Covent Garden Zara that sunny afternoon during fashion week, (does anyone remember that burst of sunshine and mild warmth the Friday of London Fashion Week?) and I was tempted to buy the blazer and another light jacquard blazer there and then, but thought I should have a little think about them. Soon ended up changing my mind about the other one as my eyes found these babies, recently I grown a slight fetish with leopard print, recently bought a scarf form M&S, courts from Wallis, reconstructed my skater skirt (from river island which I bought from last yea)r, and when I found these on the app, I was like BOOM! They're cute for a daily outing in summer or during the night with a LBD.

Hopefully, an OOTD post will come up soon ...

About Town / Getting Ready for the Olympics

During this week, I toured London with a friend from the USA ... It was amazing how much I actually didn't know about the architecture in London town, and had not notice where some buildings were lol. I found it actually refreshing being a tourist in my hometown for the day. We done the whole 'shibang' from London Victoria- Hyde Park Corner, Tower of London , Buckingham Palace and even went on the riverboat lol ^_^

Here are a few photo's I'd thought to share with y'all

 Tips:
If your in London for the Olympics, be sure to do all the site seeing ... It only takes about a day to see and explore the 'essential stuff' ... two if you want the extras ... and I would suggest about three if you want to combine the shopping along Oxford street/Convent garden/ Bond street etc etc

Do check out the galleries and museums ! London is FILLED with beauty which is hidden in places like Whitechapel Gallery, Tate, National Portrait gallery etc

And finally ... it's always good to go off track - i.e- on the Bus Tour ride, I was surprised that they don't talk about places like Brick lane, Shoreditch etc etc ... Fashionista's , artists, photographers and social addicts ... make sure you explore that area ;)

Every now and then you gotta' go back in that closet, and pull out that Freakum day Dress

(Ha Ha !!! My mother named this post )

Hello all !! Today was the first day the people of London had seen sunshine + heat throughout the day (without any sudden outbursts of showers or bad weather) for LONGG time ! Today was also about hanging out with my two good friends from my secondary school; what a lovely day to just hang out, enjoy the sun and company, alongside chill !

Dress- H&M (Hence the title ... I haven't worn this dress in a good TWO YEARS!!! -And it still fits)
Sandals - Primark

What I love about today's post was how simple it is, I wouldn't call it so 'effortlessly chic' - because this is actually what I like to wear throughout warm+ days; or shorts, tank top (but this year, I might try out some crops) and sandals/espadrilles. Primark sandals are forever ruling my summer closet and their espadrilles too . H&M have also served themselves worthy with their basic and divided range ... I don't own much outside them two, but this year with pastels and florals as one of the top trends, Topshop and New Look are producing some chic stuff to wear during the warm weather and for holiday ... will post some examples soonish ;)

This week seems exciting! The weather forecast is looking boombastic so I can't wait to grab some shots whilst style hunting!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend guys, and I wish you all a prosperous week

River Island Head wear For Festival Season Summer 2011 !!!

Now I know i just done a post about the whole festival season , including with what to wear but the head pieces from river island made me SO EXCITED!!! .....

.... That i JUST HAD to dedicate a single post about two of their head dresses that will go with any outfit for this years festival for the summer. Here they are !!

Here we have a glamorous brown speckle feather festival head dress for £16.99. When i first saw this, i actually thought of Kanye West's Music Video- Love Lockdown.

Do You Remember That Video?! How 'full of life' the dancers where?

Now I'm not trying to say that this head dress will bring all the energy you need for this festival season, but it will add a bigger and BOLD touch to your outfit.

Think about it ... ;)

Here we have this pink feather head dress for £29.99.

Now who said we can remix the red Indian trend aye?

Desigual Spring Summer 2011 for women

Desigual Shop
If you don’t know much or anything about Desigual, then you best GET TO KNOW!!!
It’s a huge fashion label known for their individual designs, sense of fun and bold color. Over and above that, the brand’s known for being just a little bit different – not just your run-of-the-mill clothing. Not only are their designs different but the chances of you bumping into anyone else wearing the same thing are next to none – so for all you people of fashion that like to stand out from the crowd, this is definitely the brand for you.
Nothing quite like a bit of fashion one-upmanship!

So lets look at some of the items that are a must have for summer :)
Womens wear
Here we have the Marina Patch Dress. This is a lovely dress for the spring / summer, you can wear it out during the day. The stripe top half blends with the patterned detail and colored buttons on the bottom part of the dress which makes the individual look unique. I say that you should keep a minimum when it comes to adding accessories on the piece as it will distract the main focus of the bottom detail. The sizes of this dress comes from 36 -46 . (true to the average women ...whippie!!!) at the price of £109.00 - But I'm TELLING YOU GUYS!!!!! .... It's worth it ;)

You could also match this outfit with this bag (also known as the London bag at Desigual) for £79

Ok, so the next item we have from Desigual is the Sponsoero. This beautiful sleeveless dress is fully lined for a luxurious feel and features detailing at the bust area to enhance your figure. The full skirt, floaty hemline and floral pattern create an ultra-feminine look.
You can pair with a soft shrug and classic sling backs for a summer wedding outfit or wedges and a wide-brimmed hat for holiday chic!

This gorgeous sleeveless dress named Loloba has a round neckline colorful buttons down the center deep front pockets and frills along the waist line and down the front in light grey. Flattering elasticated high waist
Desigual 'Have a nice day' logo on the back. So from that you must know when to wear this type of dress right ?! YES! you can wear this anywhere! On holiday(topped with a nice pair of gladiator sandals -either green.brown.gold or grey ) or out and about during the day. The price for this dress is £94.

Here we have a bikini from the 'more for less' collection. Color, joy and energy are still the main characters and basic values for this collection. The printed bikini is wireless has a padded bandeau for a bikini top. Straps to tie around the neck. Tanga briefs with ties at the sides, decorated with beads. The reason why i love this is because it's different. Think about it.... when you Londoners hit the pebble beach in Brighton this summer, think how many people would be wearing this same swimsuit just like you aye? Do you NOW understand why Desigual is just too great?! :)

Finally we have something for the evening for all of you women :)
Desigual Rosario Dress  Desigual Rosario Dress  Desigual Rosario Dress
It's called the Rosario Dress. Desigual's beautiful Rosario dress is a dream with a lovely green V neck dress with blue waist panel which ties at the back and floral design on the skirt. It is pleated over the bust and waist, which makes it well-defined with a colorful belt with an embroidered Desigual logo.
Also ... check the bags out !!!
Instead Of Rocking A Paul's Boutique ... Bag One Of THESE !!! £64
This bag is called the RIGIDO-ARESVY. It's perfect for carrying it under your arm. It’s classical shape and fixed framework transforms it in the sophisticated version of the Aresvy bag, shown below. The pattern is a mix of patchwork that make this garment a very colorful and unique piece.

I dreamed a bag moda
As the bag has so much color, you can simply wear this with a plain white shirt, flats / pumps . £79
This is the perfect bag for all of you women who are in love/ have butterflies in your belly or just happen to be a happy person and what to show it off. Now you have it even in your bag! Urban and casual, with bold and colourful flower patterns.

Prints

Ahh yes, P R I N T S!

Here we have singer and fashion icon Beyonce wearing a pair of African-inspired shorts by Boxing Kitten, along with a ikat shirt by Dries van Noten.  As you can see, she mixed patterns artfully, making sure each piece picked up the burnt orange and burgundy hues of the other. She accessorized her look with an adventurous leopard purse and chunky gold jewellery.
