A Fall Look

You can have many black, navy, khaki coats for the fall, but that's how cool is trotting along Kings Road with the crispy leaves falling from the trees and sliding against your feminine yet casual with this boyfriend  coat from Topshop ? Keep this look simple to nail that structured finish
Boyfriend Coat : Topshop
Necklace : Swarovski
Court Shoes : Zara
Jeans : River Island

Also an over sized purse would be ideal for this. Don't forget to wear a tee underneath it lool !

OOTD || All Black

I've noticed this season, my all black attire speaks volumes, I'm not really a fan of all black so I bend the rules by accessorising my outfits when interning, but this year i stuck to rules and had fun ! Instead of matching a pair of pants/jeans with a top, I've played about a little bit more. This has got to be a favourite look of mine from the blog, what I wore for the House of Oshae SS14 collection.

Sheer Dress : River Island | Leather pants: Jane Norman | Ankle strap sandals : Primark

My favourite picture from yesterday -

September Sweetie

A few of these items are my must haves for the Autumn season. During this season, most people like to be comfy and warm but are not sure of how to dress for the season (I'm talking about in London) due to  the early autumn weather which has a mixture of hot days and really (REALLY) cold days (the UK is known for having days where you experience summer, autumn, winter and spring all in one day - quite annoying) . So my way of dressing for the next couple months is simple; SMART layering. I always choose based on the weather and nothing makes me happy than owning a jacket / coat (like the All Saints one) which does the job of keep you toasty warm as well as an easy fold away when it's a little warm.

Another thing that is important for the season is your luggage. What type of bag does your daily musings need ? During my college years, I carried medium-large bags, simply because I had massive folders which I could not detach myself from, but in my first year at college, I really didn't need a large bag unless I was bringing in my laptop. Looking at my timetable for second year, I think I may need a large bag because I'll have longer days and may require my laptop more often, so in order to be practical and make sure my shoulders and back does not suffer as much, I'm going to invest in a shoppers bag as well as use my other Zara bags, however, Longchamp are the gods of practicality as well as style, offering a range of many colours in various sizes suitable for you ! The handles don't break or wear away, I'm feasting for the black on black.

From bottom left to right: Longchamp bag | All Saints coat | River Island jeggings | Chiffon Blouse

This academic year, I really don't want to go around in my typical Topshop ballet flats, no matter how much I love them and how they happen to go with nearly every outfit I wear, but you sometimes just have to give the flat ballet pumps a rest ! So heres a mixture !

My older sister owns a pair of these KG's in blue and I've worn them out all day with her and my nieces and nephews and they are comfy.com ! I would most probably leave them to the weekend, as they are perfect for a night out having fun and / or working in. Surprisingly, I have a load of trainers in my September wishlist, which as we should know is really unusual, the reason being is because they are simply comfy and beautiful ! The last two are like my 'award for Olivia-Zara' buys, most probably will buy them after fashion week to congratulate myself if I do something worthwhile ;). Russell and Bromley have THE cutest loafers which I have been eyeing up since late summer ! And yellow satin court heels? Oh Zara, God bless you !

This is a mixture of essentials and wants btw, but first and foremost, got to buy my stationary

My first internship !

Today marks the last day of my 2-week internship at River Island PR.
My first of many, and will definitely be my most memorable!

I had always wanted to intern, from watching Lauren and Whitney in the Hills to hearing the stories from my classmate Dejan at uni, I had set a goal that by the end of this year, I would have an internship underneath my belt! Since coming to uni, the emphasis on the negative side of fashion internships was all of a sudden dark, and miserable etc. My first day was brilliant (as well as the rest of my internship ^_^)! I'm the type of person that learns well via the T&A route (Theory and then ACTION).  So the amazing team welcomed me, briefed with what I was to do, what is expected of me and then GO! The first week was a little hectic because everyone was preparing for the press day. It was amazing how I was able to re-think about everything I had learnt from the theory unit at uni and put it into practice. I got to help out prep the showroom, make sure everything was in order and etc.

Press day! Was absolutely great, River Island are known for excellent performance in terms of entertaining their press, and what better way to create a 'buzz' than to bring over the 'cronut' - a croissant in the form of a donut! Invented in the US, but River Island Press was THE first to bring it over to the UK.

As well as working, I was able to talk to some of the press, I took it upon myself to take photos of the atmosphere, as when I'm working at the Amor Magazine events, that's kind of my job of the day lool, plus it was an idea that I thought would be great for when the press officer and manager present their reports. It was also cool to be able to meet to of my lecturers on the day, quite funny how I always bump into them at this type of gathering lool.

After press day had come and gone, the objective was to get the press office and showroom looking like a press office and showroom again. As well as getting the chance to be hands-on with the other side of PR. Sending out press releases, gifting, call ins, observing the online coverage as well as send outs to various magazines.

Floral blazer - Miss Selfridge | Tank - River Island | Jeans - H&M | Sandals- Primark
Kimono - Forever 21 | Tank top - H&M | Skirt- Zara | Sandals - River Island

Dress - H&M

I've kind of realized that the art of PR is truly being THE jack-of-all-trades, and master of none! As well as being able think quickly and make sure your actions work effectively.  That 'little black book' shouldn't consist solely of editors of magazines you wish to work for, BUT contacts that can be of value to get you to those places!

Ever since I got into London College Of Fashion, I decided to look for internships, but I didn't seem to have much luck (now looking back, I didn't have a detailed CV and actually realize what I've accomplished up tip this point AND being able to slyly boast about them) but after sitting down with friends and getting some feedback from my lecturers; I started applying the 'right way'.

It was a weird way of ending my first ever internship, I mean the last time I had done any form of work experience, was in yr. 10 at NatWest Bank, and I was relieved to have left- even though I learned valuable lifetime lessons. loool .

Today on my way home from my final goodbyes (more like 'til next time'), I was talking to my friend and I just remembered that a few months back when I heard the good news of getting this internship (I applied in January, found out in April- don't expect that the first email will be received, read and accepted instantly - CHASE THEM) I had to pay the price of loosing my job. For the 3rd term at uni, I suffered from this stress emotionally as well as financially; but now I'm glad that I still carried on with the internship because I'd rather work to gain an insight into the field which I'll be working in around 3 years than earn chicken feed. Experience over Money ANYDAY !

River Island Xmas in July

So last week I was student ambassador, and this week, I'm at river island press office doing a 2 week work experience . Luckily; I started this internship at a good time (Monday just gone), in the fashion calendar of most people in the industry, July is a month with many brands hosting their mid-season press days, also known as Xmas in July. This is where you get to see some of the christmas special pieces which will enter stores in about october.

Red accents, and of course leopard had to be featured this jolly season !

The traditional autumn palette , black, berry reds etc. I'm ITCHING for those boots !

Thinking Pink ?

Monochrome with hints of print
My favourite pieces from the collection :
You all know how much I'm in love with courts now, and these metallic turquoise, gold, neon and florescent are on reserve in my shoe area within my bedroom. I am also intrigued with the ankle strap up heels, the leopard with the hot pink heel alongside the orange in the same style (also comes in blue) are absolutely exciting ! This season expect to be seeing a lot of ankle boots paired with the beautiful dress to toughen up the look.
And what is a christmas party look without the statement clutch bag? Bejewelled of course ! All of the jewellery continues to be THE statement piece, River Island have a lot of oversized diamond earrings and necklaces, as well as a little bit of fur.

IS THIS NOT DIVINE ????
By force ! I shall hang this joyfully in my wardrobe
;)

For more photo's, check out the instagram page, as well as my Facebook page ... Would you like to see the menswear collection feature on the blog ? Let me know and I'll get one up ASAP.

My quick fix !

Lately, I haven't been feeling myself, hence the lack of blogging. I'm just going through some stuff which requires a lot of attention as well as focusing on my last term of university (I know they say 1st doesn't really count , but I still value every bit of it - and so you should) , I tend to not always approach my social media sites and blog as I may end up having a little rant or become negative; and I don't want that  !

I've kept myself really busy though ! Doing things that distract me from the thought of certain mishaps and even learning a few more things about the aspect of roles within this industry as well as life lessons.

But in between running from uni to work, to a meeting, to picking up something from a showroom, I stumbled into River Island (am I the only one that ' accidentally' ends up in a retail store when they need a 'pick me up'? ) , and saw these babies just calling out my name ! (Ok so they weren't calling my name, but you know that feeling right? lol)

I had seen them in the black ages ago, but during that time; I was challenging my mother how long I can go without using my debit card. But as I proved her wrong, (and I've also been on the hunt for a cool pair of ankle boot/sandals) these seemed like the best reward as well as enough to 'fix' me out of my mood lol.

They are truly a beauty aren't they ? And they went down from £55 to £35 !

I'm the 'quick-fix-on-one-item' type of person than to go on a haul, what are you ?

Happy Friday !

What's in my handbag || OOTD

Nowadays, I cannot be bothered carrying around my normal larger than 'normal-sized' bag all day long. So recently, I invested in this River Island bag .
Rings - Ebay
Bag - River Island
Jumper - Topshop
Jeggings & Heels - Zara
My prayers are answered ! I can hold everything practically in my hand. And I've learnt to prioritize what is needed . Just these simple things :
Carmex , lip-gloss and a small mirror, my diary for note-taking and etc, purse and hand cream
And here is the rest of the outfit :

As you can tell, I truly do love these Zara print heels ... very comfortable to 'jog' around London-town lol

Recent Purchases : Update

Time-00:16

I know I should be catching up on the lost hours of sleep and maybe come back to blogging in the mid-morning ... but I actually love to blog at this time of the night/ morning (I find that working around midnight is the best time gather energy and collect new ideas waiting to pop out).

So this post is just about a few purchases that I have bought from a couple of my favorite high street stores (both from the sale and normal price)

Over dyed Khaki Shirt :Topshop, Bleached Dipped Leggings- Topshop, Emerald Green Jeans with gold zip-Zara, red ballet pumps - Zara, Ballet flats-Topshop, ring-River Island (sale)

These are just a few of what I could find, I finished tidying my room today forgetting that I planned to do a post with all recent purchases and deals I came across this joyful summer sale season (will update later on today)

However, my current favorite pieces are the green jeans, the ring and the leggings. I have been SEARCHING for a lovely pair of green jeans as they could go with a number of colors such as reds, royal/navy blues, brown, black or even a soft nude ... So with that, I could always just place an over sized white tee and a kimono / blazer or coat to accomplish a casual or going out look (If I end up creating one, will do a style post )

These are how the leggings look like out
At first, they looked a little weird, but after trying them on, I became excited (like literally-jumping around in the changing room because I came up with what I would pair these with) But you all will have to wait until the near future !!

I will later post more stuff (no much) and ...yeah ... that's all folks !!! Until later today? ^_^

Men's Spring Summer Essentials

Just in time for the official beginning of Spring :)

So i was looking through GQ magazine (checking out Drake all suited up) and also found some interesting tips about the Spring trend from menswear . So i'd thought i'd share with you :D

Gucci
Tip : They say that a chest stripe is essential for every guy because it gives the illusion of a broad (or broader) chest and helps the definition of your torso.
Stripes: Striped sweaters have been seen on the runway this season like Gucci and Michael Bastian. I like how they give a combination of sporty and an athletic vibe .
Navy and white striped sweat
Topman
£28

Pants/Bottoms : its 2012 ... lets try to step out of the basic denim jean ... (let's not be acting chicken now ... might as well try something that you have never done before aye?)
Look towards cargo pants and khakis in COLOUR (and no i don't mean the basic burgundy/khaki green/ ( 'that' typical chino) beige-y cream) ... burnt oranges / blues and mustard yellows ...
And before you even THINK IT ... no you won't look 'gay' ... just try it !!
