London Fashion Week | Street Style

As some of you may know, today is that last day for London Fashion week. During the past couple days, I underwent street-style hunting at Somerset House. I did also intern at Bora Aksu on Friday (as usual, lovely experience and thank you Goodley PR) and loved the fact that this year, I actually took it upon myself to engage with the subject (the person).

Alright so back to the blog post, this year was totally about looking for the street style trends, what seems to be booming, and what looks like a trend which is not quite there yet, but will creep up later.

- Neon (yet again), but in a way I'd think is easier to execute. Most people feel that neon is not a color that suits practical day-wear for the Spring, or can sometimes look a little 'off'' at night. Personally, I believe that you need a little neon in your closet, whether that be an accessory or footwear. Those two options from an outfit can jazz up your ensemble. Also, it's a good way of combining it with the monochrome trend which is kind of in full swing now. Neon is an alternative for that 'pop color (red/fuchsia/cobalt blue).

-Shades Rain come or sun shine, you need a range of glasses, try looking round thrift shops, or going to vintage fairs as they really do hold the treasure which you cannot find in the mainstream retail shops. There are only so much that Urban Outfitter and New Look can provide!

This is all I can show now, but do look out for more street-style on the facebook page, and in the next issue of Amor Magazine

And I leave you with a ...
TIP: Always leave a positive and memorable impression, whether it's a friendly gesture like smiling or displaying your basic manners which your mother tuned into your head countless of times; that's how people remember you; and that is how your business card won't get chucked on the ground after you turn your back against that person whom you did not say thank you too !

OOTD || RED .

First OOTD for 2013 ! Whippieee!

Jeans ~ Zara | Ballet Pumps ~ Topshop | Blazer ~ Zara | Ruffled Pussybow Shirt~ Ralph Lauren | Brooch~ Dior (Vintage)

After doing many errands this morning, I visited the most talked about exhibition right now (well since November) Valentino: Master of Couture at Somerset House.
The last 'fashion based' exhibition I had gone to see was at the V&A museum (Ballgowns) and I was deeply upset by the layout, composition and order of the exhibition and Valentino's was completely different ! This exhibition invited you to look up close and see the craftsmanship of every design.
It was a fun experience and having Clara come along made it even better due to the fact that she could explain (in more depth) the type of skill used etc etc.
Anyone who is a fan of the one and only master of couture , should definitely pop by one afternoon  with a friend (actually, try early morning or later near to the closing time if you are the type of person that doesn't like crowds. Every hour session attracts many viewers) . It's only £9 with your student card ^_^.

This couch had to be included in the post, it wsa really comfy - had us sitting there for a good 20 minutes lol
Happy New Year by the way

LBJ [Photo Diary]

What I got up to on the weekend ^_^ ...

I had originally planned to visit the exhibition soon after it was opened to the public but due to university responsibilities and other changes in life ... had to postpone until Sunday (can you imagine  I have not really had any time to relax and visit galleries since I came back from New York?!)  The exhibition as a whole was simply divine, not only were there subjects from the fashion industry but also familiar personalities from the music industry, theatre  and other form of arts. Here are only some of what I took on my iPhone ... my camera died *cries*.

What was also lovely was they handed out free posters of a few from the actual collection ... I was given the  edgy Georgia May Jagger ( you can see what it looks like here). Overall, it was a lovely Sunday afternoon in on Kings Road ... different (because I was not there to shop, attend a meeting or chill out with friends lol) but fun ^_^

NYFW Street Style | Scott Schuman

One of my favorite fashion street photographers of today, the owner of The Sartorialist blog Scott Schuman captures what (I call) lies in between the lines. Most photographers that I look at, capture snaps like these maybe outside a venue or the attendees/ well known figures of fashion going to the show, Schuman tends to just around the whole of the city which I like and I just seem to enjoy what he gets.
