The inspiration: The painting "Gypsy Woman With Tambourine" by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, according to the show notes.
The look: Demi-couture. Feminine frills. Voluminous skirts with heart-shaped tops; ballgowns with exquisite embroidery or cape-back details.
A relative newcomer, Madrid-based Delpozo is bringing a unique point of view to the New York circuit for SS14. With a line consisting of beautiful floral embroideries on classic Balenciaga-esque couture volumes, a splash of prints and lace appliqués. To sum up this collection, a combination of tradition and detailed craftwork, creating an ultra feminine ensemble entrenched in heritage with a modern appeal.
The choice for color is what really captured my eye for the collection, using shades of beige to lavender, green and pink pop creating a fresh take on romance and decoration.
Power to the pastel palette for SS14! Just when you thought maybe that pastels should be only left for painting/eating, Delpozo proves that SS14 can have a fresh and enchanting look. I pray that the high-street comparisons will deliver and have mercy loool
