River Island introducing it's AW12 full of that raw edge glamour and also meeting that 'chav' girl ... and the jewels to match

I'm in love with the range of gold chains attached on the clothing, to the studding, lace and trimmings ... very London and chic .. No excuses for us when London Fashion Week commences people !!! :)

Hackney Weekender 2012

 Set in the heart of Hackney Marshes in East London, Hackney Weekend was definitely looking like it will be remembered as THE festival of the summer for MANY years ... just for £2.50? 

The waiting seemed to have lasted for a LONG time !!! From waking up on that very Sunday to book our tickets, site crashing etc, to arriving on the day, going through  stringent security checks and several people examining my ticket; I entered the site which would be music’s equivalent of heaven for the next 10 hours.

1st, Jourdan and I went to check out Westwood at the DJ stage and we were welcomed with rhythms from  all different genres making us 2 step which then lead us to bumping into quite a number of our college friends . 
Even though I am not a particular fan of Westwood, I admit he got me and the fellow crowd moving to his music!

Afterwards, we opted for the BBC introducing stage and met fellow candi student -Prince Kongo !! Also got to see our homegirl Jade from UD vocal collective doing her thing !! That stage had SO much talent for me to describe ... but for more, check out Jourdan's blog ^_^.

Up next ... we shoved and scuffled along to the 1Xtra stage ... awaiting for Emeli Sande, DJ Fresh (who also had Rita Ora as his guest), and my love ... Trey Songz !!! Those 30 mins of each of their performances were HOTT !!! OMG !!! I recorded them on my iphone ... and they're on my youtube channel ;)

  

On that day, we also saw my Uncle Sean Paul and his 30mins performance consisted of those old school tunes which I remembered him for like Gimmie the Light, and Get Busy ... tbh, I don't know why he doesn't go back to his old ways ... I'm not really feeling these new songs of his loool


But the main highlight of our day at the festival was from the main stage .... From Ed Sheeran, to Nicki Minaj, to my uncle (yes He is my uncle loool) Jigga !!!! We all thought that his only guest would be Kanye ... but he also brought on Ri Ri and MIA ... the performance was EPIC!!! Jay Z performed old tunes like 99 problem to collaborations like Bonie & Clyde (with my aunty Beyonce at the front in the audience) to songs of his latest album with 'Ye, Watch the Throne.

 

Loved Saturday, and thanks to my boo Jourdan Jae for allowing me to be her guest !!! I got to see Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran, Trey Songz, Rita Ora, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Jay Z AND Kanye West for just £2.50

Look at what I found !!

The famous Zara safari jacket with leather sleeves has been the 'must- have' item for many wardrobes across  females in London, but due to it's popularity, and the duration of it's existence ... there are also many that didn't have a chance to purchase the jacket ... including me :( ... I was so sad!!! So close to buying the jacket on eBay, but then again, because i have a larger chest area, I still haven't bought one (double sad face). Another problem I found out during conversations with my friends, because of the Spanish stores' size structure, most females size 12+ who wanted to buy it, couldn't due to size .... But going along the Primark AW12, look what I found !!!

To those that haven't had the chance to purchase the Zara original ... there's always the Primark version ... coming out later this month/ early July from their AW12 collection

Primark AW12: Sneak Peek

AW12 collections are coming out soon and to be honest,with beautiful pieces like what Primark has in store for us this autumn ... I'm not so bothered for summertime loool. From this collection, expect to find elegant boucle jackets, sheer printed shirts and chic cigarette pants. 

     

     

     

    

       

What are my favourite pieces from the collection?

There are many, I'm in love with the printed trousers, I just absolutely love tapered trousers and a nice chic print ... with these, an oversized collared blouse/ cashmere jumper and a pair of stilettos

Another piece I love is the sheer cut-out blouse, lovely for both day and night ... with fitted pants and a pair of pumps

Maison Martin Margiela at H&M? Oui Oui Oui !!!

Grab your pitch notice boards my fellow fashionista's !!!

The rumor that Maison Martin Margiela at H&M has been confirmed and the launch of the fall collaboration shall be November 15th.

I can not lie, it is a surprising collaboration, as the historical context of the French fashion brand has cultivated a mythic quality to their brand. And most people will not know of their brand as they never seem to be advertised or aspired to communicate in a mass-market way. As 'MMM' had always remained as an exclusive brand, it shows a lot for it to be teaming with the Swedish brand and they want to raise public awareness to the house,

- big step for the label.

But what is more a 'big' issue is ... will it live up to it's previous successors Versace, Jimmy Choo, Lavin etc ?The french brand is a stunning and dynamic brand, but will it show on a H&M budget? Hmmmm

But ending this post, H&M are bringing out big guns this 2012 with collaborators ... Anna Dell Russo AND Maison Martin Margiela ... What are you most excited for?

Zara June 2012 Lookbook

     

Dude-ettes ... ZARA has done it again, and may I say, Aymeline Valade is looking mighty fine for the June Lookbook ... My favorite pieces are the blazer, white coat and lace skirt ... not so sure about the gold studded white tee.

Ahh the joys of being a student in London -_- .. ZARA in general are producing some beautiful pieces for spring/summer and it hurts me to not be able to buy anything ... well not until after exams/ when I have a proper job lool
